The bottom of the drawers is no best than stiff cardboard. Any real weight in them blows out the bottom. The actual bed 'stringers' that run the distance are held in rails along the headboard and the footboard. The head and footboard warped so much in the middle of the span as to let the two middle stringers fall out of the capture of the rails. So the head and footboards are so flexible that it will not bear the weight without bulging out. I ended up running a steel cable from foot to head and 'cinched' up the warp. Last night was however the last straw, it was the mold that formed on the bottom of the cardboard drawer bottoms. Yes, we have a damp environment in No. Cal. But if you know mold, you know it will grow on the 'weakest' biological surfaces, such as paper, 'cardboard', clothing, leather and so on. I have a partner who gets very sick in the proximity of mold, so I literally, at bedtime had to go and toss the drawers out the back door. The very short toss into the high grass in my yard supports my opine that building and materials suck, big time. Yes, 3 of 6 are broken. If they had been real drawers, they would have been bruised a bit, not cracked and broken. I'm done with PrePac, I have a dresser and headboard bought at the same time, all cheesy manufacturing. There also is nothing to hold the frame of the bed square aside from it's own weight on the floor. I in effect had to mess with it to make all the drawers fit properly. Drawers move in and out more or less easily, but not evenly, springing on the rails from side to side. If you know anything about cabinet construction, you wouldn't have done it this way, believe me.
